This month our focus is on missions, including the launch of Glocal 2026, where you will again be encouraged to think about Giving, Going and Praying as we seek to carry on the work of sharing the Good News of God’s Kingdom with people near and far. Please be prayerfully considering how God might have you participate this year.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It’s a hands-on way for you to demonstrate God’s love to children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. The boxes are distributed in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in vulnerable situations.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Last year most of our boxes were given out in Cambodia where Samaritans Purse are not only reaching children by giving boxes but building churches in many areas.
Last year we sent over 100 boxes from New Vine Beaches and this year we hope to send off at least 100. We hope you can share in this Glocal initiative. The church pays the $12.50 postage for each box. There are a few ways you can help and a few dates that you could note in the box below.
Dates
Sunday 30 August: OCC Fundraising stall – after church. Church family, you can help by bringing some items to sell (please let Judy know on 0452 485 151) and by bringing along some money to spend. It is a fun and important way for our kids to be involved in helping others. Feel free to pay overinflated prices for your purchases to help. The money raised purchases items to go into our boxes.
Sunday 20 September: OCC Packing Day – during church. Always a fun and very rewarding time together!
How can you help?
PRAY for these boxes.. they change lIves in children, families and communities.
MAKE – We need … 50 girls skirts or dresses, tote bags, small soft toys, jewellery. Please see Judy if you need fabric as she has plenty.
BUY – tennis balls, Yo Yo’s, Dolls, toys, cars, textas, highlighters, scissors, hair clips, hair ties, torches with batteries or solar powered, any other things you think a child would love.
